Brian Berman took home the final Power Player Poll victory of the summer ball season by getting 27% of the vote. This poll was open for nearly a month, and so it received a large total of 158 votes, despite web traffic being down due to most leagues being completed. Berman led his Scalpers coed team to the Mayfield Village Competitive Coed League Championship, where his team would have pulled off an extra inning victory had Mulligan's/Lifetime not scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th to steal the victory.

% Votes Received: 24%

Joe Hudak won this week's poll with the lowest percentage of votes for an outright victor with only 24% of the vote. Kristy Booher made it close all week, but came up short as she ended with only 20% of the vote. With Hudak's numbers for the week, it is surprising that he did not get more support. His perfect 7/7 with 4 HR and 11 RBI in only two games ceetainly makes him a worthy addition to this List of Champions.

% Votes Received: 39%

Known for his great speed, Nerone chalked up an extra-base hit on all seven of his hits, earning a 2.222 SLG for the week. With the poll lasting a bit longer than usual, voters were able to come out in record numbers, producing a total of 284 votes - a new all-time high for the Power Players Poll. Voters especially piled on the votes for Nerone, who cruised to the victory by defeating his closest competitor, Aaron Krieger, by 55 votes.

Jamie Hanculak's huge playoff game not only started him off in the lead in this highly voted upon poll, but kept him there the entire week. In a field of 8 candidates, Hanculak garnered an impressive 35% of the vote. At a time fairly deep into the week, Hanculak actually had over 50% of the vote. His 5/5, 3 HR week helped his team to victory in its first playoff game of the season, and it certainly helped him win this week's poll.

Brian Swick and Rennis Rouse went neck and neck in this week's Power Player Poll. In the end, Swick's supporters gave him a 3% edge. The new placement of the poll on the softball home page resulted in easily the highest vote total of the season (293), and the second most of all time. Rouse's 8/8, 4 home run week turned out to not be enough, as Swick's 5 home run outburst impressed the voters just a tad more.

This Week: 2 GP, 6/6, 4 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 6 R, 1 BB, 2.667 SLG
% Votes Received: 48%

Mike McGough earned this Power Player victory after putting on an offensive outburst that included reaching safely in all seven plate appearances and getting an extra base hit, including four home runs, in all six official at bats. McGough did the work on the field, and his supporters followed suit by giving him 48% of the vote, the highest vote total for any Power Player winner this season. Morgan McIntire finished second with 28% of the vote after going 7/7 with 4 HR, 11 RBI, and 8 R.

Matt Gasper and Rich Ranells, teammates on the currently #4 ranked Integrity Stainless of the Mayfield Village Competitive league, shared the highest percentage of votes this week with 23% each. Gasper did his damage in the strong Mayfield Village Competitive league by going 7/8 with a double, triple, two home runs, and seven runs batted in, along with three base on balls. Ranells earned his second Power Player victory of the season with a big week for his undefeated and currently #5 ranked Panini's team in the Mayfield Heights Men's league. In two games, he combined to go 6/8 with two doubles, a triple, two home runs, and eleven runs batted in. It may not be a coincidence that both of these players' teams are currently on top in their league standings.

With a last minute surge, John Gregorio stole the Week 4 Power Players Poll from Jamie Hanculak of Mayfield Village Recreational Men. Gregorio edged out Hanculak by two percentage points, getting an even 40% of the votes. The monster numbers that Gregorio put up - 9/9, 2 2B, 4 3B, 2 HR, 10 RBI - were definitely tough to argue against, especially considering that Gregorio helped keep his Winking Lizard team at first place in the league standings.

After trailing Greg Gromek by a few percentage points late in the week, Brian Benander came from behind and held onto the lead for good, capturing 41% of the vote. Benander's Week 3 Power Players win was a result of a 6/6, 4 HR effort in which his first-place ranked Fejes Team won two games to remain undefeated in the Gesu Sunday Morning Men's League.

% Votes Received: 46%

John Franzinger won the Week 2 Power Players Poll by almost getting the majority of the votes. Laura Pugel of the SELREC Women league was the only other player to give Franzinger a battle, earning 31% of the vote. Franzinger was deserving of the win, posting up impressive numbers in a morning league, and leading his team to two victories.

Week 1: Beginning of seaon through June 7

League: Mayfield Heights Men
This Week: 9 GP, .735, 5 2B, 11 HR, 33 RBI, 23 R, 1.912 SLG
% Votes Received: 32%

The first poll spanned stats from the beginning of the season and Rich Ranells started off hot, slugging 11 homers in his nine games and knocking in 33 RBI, leading his team to undefeated 9-0 with an impressive +13.9 run differential. All six candidates of the poll were current MVPs of their respective leagues, causing the vote to be fairly close and allowing Ranells' 32% to be enough.
